1. About this Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains EveryNest’s use of cookies and similar technologies on our website (everynest.app) and in the EveryNest mobile app. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website or app stores on your device when you use it. They are used for a variety of purposes — some are strictly needed for a site to work at all, some help remember your preferences, and others are used to track your activity for advertising or analytics.

Similar technologies (such as local storage, session storage, and IndexedDB) do broadly the same thing as cookies but store the data in a slightly different way on your device. Where this policy refers to “cookies,” it includes those similar technologies.

3. What we use, and what we don’t

EveryNest does not currently set cookies on your device.

We do use browser and app storage that is necessary to provide EveryNest. This includes local storage, which can remain on the device between sessions, and session storage, which is cleared when the browser tab or session ends.

We use local storage for:

• keeping an account signed in securely, including the authentication tokens used by EveryNest;
• keeping a paired Child device signed in;
• remembering which Household the member is currently using;
• maintaining an invite while the user completes the sign-up or joining process;
• recording when subscription status was last reconciled; and
• remembering that a particular reward-request outcome has already been shown to a member.

We use session storage for short-lived information needed while a user moves through invitation and Household-joining screens.

The Android app uses the same types of device storage within its embedded browser environment.

These items do not expire according to a single fixed schedule. Session-storage information is cleared when the relevant browser session ends. Local-storage information may remain between sessions until it is removed by EveryNest, the user signs out or completes the relevant process, the user clears the app or browser storage, or the app is uninstalled, depending on the item concerned.

We do not use device storage for:

• advertising;
• behavioural tracking or profiling;
• retargeting or remarketing;
• cross-site or cross-app tracking;
• social-media tracking pixels; or
• analytics designed to identify or track individual users.

We do not sell or provide information stored on your device to advertising networks or data brokers.

4. Why we don’t ask for cookie consent

Under Luxembourg law, consent is not required for storage or access to information on a user's device where it is strictly necessary to provide an information-society service expressly requested by the user.

The device storage EveryNest currently uses is limited to authentication, security and functionality needed to provide the EveryNest service and the functions the user chooses to use. We therefore do not ask for consent to this storage or display a consent banner.

The equivalent rules apply to our UK users under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.

If EveryNest introduces storage or access technologies for a purpose that requires consent, we will update this policy and obtain that consent before using them.

5. Third parties that may use cookies on their own surfaces

EveryNest may contain links to third-party services, such as Google Play or the website of our UK representative. If you follow one of those links, the third party may use cookies or other technologies under its own policies.

EveryNest does not currently embed advertising networks, social-media tracking tools or third-party behavioural analytics that store or access information on your device through EveryNest.

6. Your device controls

You can clear locally stored EveryNest information through your browser or device settings. In the Android app, clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app will also remove information stored locally on that device.

Because some of this information is necessary for authentication and other EveryNest functions, clearing or blocking it may sign you out, end a paired-device session or prevent parts of EveryNest from working until the information is created again.

7. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. If we make a material change — for example, if we introduce new cookie categories — we will notify you before the change takes effect.
